Happy Hour
Join contemporary impressionist Michael Flohr as he once again endeavors to transport us to places far and near to celebrate the magical moments that can be found in the little corners of the world.
Michael Flohr’s latest image takes us to “Happy Hour” at the legendary Buena Vista in San Francisco. Located across the street from Fisherman’s Wharf, the city’s most popular tourist destination, the Buena Vista translates to “good view” in Spanish. The Buena Vista has been a popular meeting place since 1916 when the first floor of a boarding house was converted into a saloon. It is renowned for being the home of America’s first, authentic Irish Coffee (made to perfection in 1952 and still being served today).
The luminous color emanating from the windows against the soothing tones of the interior chosen from the artist’s exquisite palette convince us that the Buena Vista is a perfect place to warm up from the cool breeze off the San Francisco Bay. Flohr’s distinctive blend of color and imagery mix up a visual cocktail that is sure to warm the spirit and comfort the soul. The strength and vitality of the artist’s painting technique captures the mood of this relaxing atmosphere as sure as any Irish Coffee could.
We invite you to stop in at happy hour, have a drink and enjoy the view…the Buena Vista.
