Piccadilly's Previews November 2012
Hi Folks,
I don’t know about you but for me, this is my favorite time of year. Change is in the air: the leaves are changing, the temperatures are dropping and the political ads are over. Yippee!!!!!
Speaking of change, the discovery of a new artist for the gallery is very challenging. We have established a high bar of qualifications and integrity……many are considered but few are chosen. Ton Dubbeldam is a Dutch painter whom we are thrilled to be introducing. This artist combines elements of Impressionism with Pointillism and hints of Illuminist in his paintings.
His work is remarkable. We will be featuring his original oils on canvas plus very limited (95 piece) editions on canvas, all heavily embellished by the artist.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Plus our gallery walls are filled with new works by Erica Hopper, Leon Roulette, Thomas Arvid, Alexei Butirskiy, and Stuart Yankell. Are you ready to add a new work of art to your home? Hope you can stop in or visit the artist’s gallery at piccadillys.com.
Our last shipment of “Twilight at Piccadilly’s” has just arrived. These little treasures have been very popular “thank you gifts,” and we may have enough to last thru the holidays. With ANY framed purchase, you will receive a framed “Twilight at Piccadilly’s” painted by Alexei Butirskiy as a special memento of the gallery where you discovered your favorite work.
Tremont’s monthly art walk is November 9th. Hope you can attend. Follow us on Facebook.
Thanks again for your support and have a wonderful holiday season.

Introducing Ton Dubbeldam
Ton Dubbeldam was born in Holland in 1957 and is a graduate of Academy Minerva, Groningen in 1983. His paintings are a combination of oil and dry pastel on canvas, creating a luminescent quality of light and dark shades. The artist’s vision incorporates styles of the 17th century Dutch Impressionist landscapes painters with the pointillist styles of contemporary painter Chuck Close, whom he studied under in New York.
As an introductory offer, all purchases will receive a copy of his first-ever coffee table book titled “Impressions, Nature and Imagination.”

Thomas Arvid Gallery
Having a wine cellar in a home is a tradition that dates back thousands of years, even before indoor plumbing.
When Thomas Jefferson built his beloved Monticello in Virginia, he not only had a wine cellar but also two sets of dumbwaiters to retrieve bottles from the cellar and discard the empties.
Today’s modern cellars are built using the finest of woods and the very best climate control systems to maintain and showcase the collection.
Sorry no dumbwaiters.
This unique Arvid captures a small treasure trove of his prized collection, numbering in the thousands. Can you identify any of the bottles in his painting “Bin There” ?

Leon Roulette Gallery
For several years, we have showcased the work of “plein air” Impressionist painter Leon Roulette. For the first time, however, we are introducing some of his affordable original oils on canvas. Having originals in the gallery provides us with the opportunity to not only study his original compositions but also take a closer look at the way he re-creates and embellishes his limited editions. To compare an eight thousand dollar original to a fifteen-hundred dollar, artist-embellished limited edition is eye opening.

Alexei Butirskiy Gallery
This fall we are introducing you to some of Butirskiy’s original water color painting. These works have the wonderful look of original oils on canvas but are actually watercolors on paper. We’ve gone the extra mile by adding museum glass to each piece so you don’t have the annoying glare that accompanies most glass. As a matter of fact, you will not be able to tell if there is glass on your work.

Erica Hopper Gallery
Hopper’s paintings are compelling and interpretive. The larger than life images, mostly in vertical presentations, make stunning statements on larger walls. The artist creates delicately modulated surfaces with subtle imagery. Her color use is strong, yet positioned to create a quiet contemplation and colorful vivaciousness. While she develops figurative images with color washes and markings that are clearly defined, the edges leave openness for imaginative completion. All are heavily artist-embellished with editions of 75 or 50.
These three works are currently in the gallery.

Stuart Yankell Gallery
Yankell, an artist who has been in our gallery for over a decade, is an abstract expressionist painter. His compositions are fluid with a heavy accent on music and dance; his colors are opaque and translucent with multi-layering to create an energy and movement on canvas.
